A Little Job Update

Before I share some fun job-related news I wanted to say that I have every intention of blogging regularly again in the very near future BUT right now things are crazy. Finding free time is difficult these days… especially free time when I don’t have my hands full with a snoozing infant, dishes, a baby book or adorable little laundry. In the meantime if you want to keep up with my day-to-day make sure you’re following me on Instagram… I post almost daily and am totally getting into the whole InstaStory thing! 🙂

Today I just wanted to pop in and share an exciting job update.

As the track season was winding down this past spring I had every intention of returning this fall for cross country. I loved the school, the kids and the whole coaching gig in general. However, my goal has always been to coach at the collegiate level and this summer I was browsing a NCAA XC/Track jobs bulletin that I frequented often when I saw THE perfect job!

Part time. Assistant coach. At the school I was already attending for graduate school!

I texted Henri, excited about the possibility and he immediately encouraged me to apply. I sent in my information just to see what would happen and boy was I shocked! The next morning (having slept in to a ridiculous hour… you can do that when you are 8 months pregnant) I woke up to a message on my cell phone from the head coach saying that he and the Athletic Director were extremely interested. We did a little phone interview on the spot, I spoke with the Athletic Director the next day and the following week I went in to meet them in person. Within a week of having applied for the position they offered me the role!

I couldn’t believe how fast everything happened, I was so excited about the opportunity but really didn’t want to leave my high schoolers. After over a week of prayer and discussions with Henri, my parents, my sisters and my friends it became clear that taking the leap was the right decision. God wouldn’t have opened all those doors so quickly if it wasn’t meant to be!

So as of August 15th I’m officially a CBU Lancer!

I can’t wait to see what this season and hopefully the years ahead hold at CalBaptist!
