Hi there, welcome to The Foodie Runner!
My name is Lauren and, if you haven’t figured it out already, my two biggest passions in life are running and food!
I ran my first race when I was 10 years old, but really got hooked on this running thing when I joined the cross country team in 7th grade. I hit my running stride during my years at Pepperdine University and while I was there I ran 5 school records and many personal bests. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss running on the beautiful, sunny trails of Malibu, CA!
After graduation in 2012 I wanted to take on a new challenge so I left my favorite distance (the 5K) behind and set out to run my first marathon! I have since tackled 3 marathons – L.A. 2013, Boston 2014 & Chicago 2014) and currently race any distance between the mile and marathon!
When I’m not running I love baking, cooking, reading cookbooks and eating out at new restaurants. I eat a mostly healthy diet but I have a major weakness for pancakes, ice cream and cappuccinos. All in moderation, right?
I use this space to talk about all things running, share recipes that I love, and post way too many #garminselfies (<- hey, at least I admit it 😉 )!
Oh, and don’t be surprised if you see pictures of this guy pop up from time to time. I kinda like him, like a lot.
