Baby Floris: Week 25

Happy Monday, y’all! 

It’s been two weeks since my last baby update and since I spent my weekend researching and writing a 10 page paper on Live High-Train Low altitude training I thought I’d skip the weekend recap and just catch you up on what baby girl is up to instead. 😉

WHAT’S BABY FLORIS UP TO?

Lavinia is the size of an acorn squash. 

She is approximately 13.6-14.8 inches long and anywhere from 1.5-2.5 pounds.

According to The Bump, she has developed a sense of equilibrium and now knows which way is up and which is down. She is also working on growing more hair and fat!

WEIGHT GAINED

I recently decided to stop weighing myself (not that I have been very often anyways). I may do a separate post on this or I may not… we’ll see.

WORKOUTS

After two weeks of slacking on the weight lifting front I finally found a good balance between running and weights. My full training summary can be seen here.

SYMPTOMS

Every app/book I’ve read says that the 2nd trimester is the easiest and right now I have to agree. Besides some lower back soreness and being over tired all the time (see below) I currently have nothing to complain about. 

MOVEMENT

All the time, and I absolutely love it!! My favorite time of day is when I finally get the chance to sit down and Liv starts doing back flips in my belly. She is so active it blows my mind!

FOOD CRAVINGS & AVERSIONS

I’m so thankful that my aversions have recently died down. My cravings have pretty consistently been inconsistent but the past two weeks the few things that I have craved are grilled cheese sandwiches, big glasses of milk, breakfast burritos, cereal with milk and PB&J sandwiches. Nothing crazy… just lots of carbs and dairy (besides ice cream because that still doesn’t sound good 🙁 )

SLEEP

Sleep is so good that it’s gone a little overboard. I need at LEAST 10 hours a night and yesterday I took a 3 hour nap… just 2 hours after  waking up! I’m trying to soak it up now because I know sleep will be hard to come by after July 23rd but it is slightly frustrating when I have so much schoolwork to get done.

MATERNITY CLOTHES

All day. Every day. And I may need to start borrowing some of Henri’s workout shirts because a lot of mine have suddenly become belly shirts…. haha

STRETCH MARKS

Not yet. I’m just counting this as good luck even though I am religiously applying my belly butter and belly oil.

MISS ANYTHING?

This was the first week that it hit me that I’m really missing long runs, and just hard training in general. Our little girl is more than worth it but I would give anything for a solid 14-15 mile long run right about now!

BABY ITEMS PURCHASED

I realized this week that my baby showers were sneaking up on me so I finally ordered my dresses for them. I got both from Pink Blush Maternity because they were having a sale on dresses this weekend (20%). I can’t wait to wear them at my showers soon!

FAVORITE MOMENT OF THE WEEK

Catching some of Lavinia’s big, night time movements on video! It cracks me up because its the kind of thing only Henri and I really appreciate but I can’t stop watching the videos over and over again.

LOOKING FORWARD TO

My parents coming to visit. They get here Wednesday and are staying here for 12 days!!! I cannot wait! 😀
