Day in the Life #2 (w/ a little arm/core workout)

My life since we moved back to California has been all sorts of crazy! Between grad school, furnishing the apartment, looking for jobs, going on interviews, switching my training focus, and adjusting to Henri’s new work schedule every day is different and jam packed!

Here’s a glimpse at my new day in the life…

I’m also linking up with WIAW since I included a lot of my eats throughout the day! Thanks Jenn for hosting!

5:30– 1st alarm goes off, violently hit snooze and roll over

5:39 – 2nd alarm goes off, I turn it off and *begrudgingly* roll out of bed (trying not to disturb Henri AKA the lightest sleeper in the world)

5:40 – Get dressed in the dark, fill up a water bottle and head down to the gym at our apartment complex

5:50 – Do the following 30 minute weight room circuit – since I raced yesterday today was all about arms and core (no squats… YAY!!!)

30 minute weight room circuit (arms & core)6:20 – Run back to the apartment, get the coffee pot started and leash up the dogs

IMG_78546:25 – Take the dogs for a quick 15 minute walk.

IMG_78676:40 – Feed the dogs, pour my cup of coffee and get breakfast prepped. Today is Trader Joe’s Frosted Shredded Wheat w/ strawberries and milk + a slice of sourdough toast w/ butter and raspberry preserves!

IMG_78746:50 – Shove breakfast in my face (take the toast to go), start the dishwasher, put the dogs in the bedroom with Henri and head out!

7:00-8:10 – Get in the car, hook up the new Undisclosed Podcast (Serial lovers I hope you’ve heard of this) and drive to church.

8:10-10:15 – Volunteer in the business office. I usually do this on Monday mornings but since Monday was a holiday this week it got pushed to Tuesday ๐Ÿ™‚

10:15 – Drive to the OC marathon office right around the corner from church. I got an e-mail last week to go and pick up my prize from the OC Half so since I’m in the neighborhood I stop by.

They had this year’s Beach Cities Challenge medal displayed on the front desk – and seeing it in person really made me want to sign up for the Long Beach and Surf Cities halves this year so it can be mine! ๐Ÿ˜‰

IMG_7881My 1st place AG medal!!!

IMG_788410:40 – Run my easy 8 miler on one of my favorite bike paths around the old stomping grounds.

11:40 – Finish off my workout with 4x 100m strides and some stretching.

12:00 – Grab an apple out of my bag, jump in the car and head home.

Pink Ladies = one of my favorites!

12:45 – Get home, take the dogs out, and make lunch. My recent go to has been avocado and spinach on toast w/ fried eggs. I just can’t get over this combination!

IMG_78941:30 – Clean up from lunch and tidy up the apartment a bit. Wipe down the kitchen counters, put away the clean dishes from the dishwasher, vacuum the bedroom & Swiffer the floors.

2:15 – Finalllly take my shower for the day!

2:45 – Sit down to get some work done – on tap for the day is an online discussion board for my leadership class, coaching work + writing my recap of the Memorial Day 5K.

While I work the pups enjoy their new “fenced in” patio that Henri did on Memorial Day. It’s so nice to be able to leave the door wide open without worrying the dogs are going to walk/jump/fall through the poles! ๐Ÿ˜€

4:30 – Bite the bullet and decide to return the blue bedspread. I pack up all the bedding, make myself a smoothie and head back to Marshall’s for the last time (PROMISE)!

IMG_79075:00 – Head to Target to grab our new bedspread. Henri and I compromised and went with white. A win-win because I wanted white all along and now the dogs will never be allowed in bed (Henri’s win… haha).

5:30 – Put the new bedding on the bed. Now the apartment is officially 100% done!!

6:00 – Send a few e-mails for a group project for school, and do a little reading for class.

7:00 – Make and eat dinner. Henri’s working late which means I can have something I LOVE – curry! I just sauteed sweet potato and chicken in olive oil, added some frozen veggies, chopped up pineapple and 1/4 cup of this Thai Red Curry Sauce from TJ’s and let it simmer for 10-15 mins. I served it all over brown rice and it was really tasty!IMG_79158:00 – Watch 1 episode of Parenthood.

8:50 – Clean up from dinner, type up this post and do some last minute tidying for the day.

9:30 – Read blogs/surf the internet while snacking on dark chocolate M&M’s until I’m tired enough to go to bed.

10:30 – Take dogs out one last time, brush teeth, hop in bed, set alarm for the next morning and LIGHTS OUT!

What was the highlight of your day yesterday?

Do you have a go-to lunch? Does it go through phases?? I always have a go-to but it’s also ALWAYS changing! Right now it’s avocado toast but for a while it was bagels w/ PB&J!
