Eddie Bauer Review

Well here we are at another Monday morning. We had a VERY busy weekend over here. Between getting the tires on Henri’s car changed, two Christmas parties, AND a half marathon in Gloucester Henri and I were both falling asleep in the couch by 9PM last night.

So this morning I’m taking a little bit of time to slow down, do some yoga, and eat some pancakes!

My 3 mile shake-out run from yesterday’s race can totally wait until tonight! 🙂

I will get around to recapping my race later this week and instead today I have a fun review for you that might just help you out with your Christmas shopping for all those runners on your list this year!

About a month ago Eddie Bauer reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing some of their winter running clothes on the blog. Since this is my 1st winter back in New England in 6 years and I am in dire need of warm running clothes {and because I love everything Eddie Bauer I’ve ever tried} I said YES immediately!

The items that I tried out were:

I absolutely LOVED everything and I wear each of them multiple times a week because they are just that warm and comfortable to run in (a hard combination to get right!)

The Hangfire Pro Hooded Jacket is perfect for running, but also as an everyday jacket in milder temperatures. I’ve worn it for everything from running on the trails…..

The bright color is great for early morning runs when you want to be seen by cars, it has thumbs holes {my FAVE!}, and I love the polyester/spandex stretch fleece that it’s made of. The material makes it fit nice and snug but it’s stretchy enough that you can wear multiple layers underneath if it gets really cold (like when it was 20* the other day!)

The Movement Leggings are another item that I could wear all day – from running to doing errands, traveling, and even to our Christmas parties this weekend!

These leggings have SOOOO many great features – the waistband is high and WIDE which is great for not only making you look great in your leggings, but also keeps any cold winter wind OUT! The pocket is so big that you can fit a bunch of stuff in it like car keys, money, and even a cell phone!

One thing that bugs me about most leggings is that they are never long enough for my legs. This leaves a little inch or so of exposed ankle skin between my socks and my leggings and when I go out for a long run in the freezing cold it can be very uncomfortable. Luckily the movement leggings are plenty long for my legs and don’t leave any gap so my ankles have been happy happy campers running in these this past month!

Last but not least – the Incendiary Long-Sleeve Crew Shirt is the perfect base layer for cold winter runs. It’s made with Eddie Bauer’s FREEHEAT™ PRO ACTIVE HEATING TECHNOLOGY which means that it uses thermally efficient yarns. To be honest I have no  idea what that means, but all I can tell you is that it really works! I never thought that a single long sleeve shirt could keep me so warm! I also love that the FREEDRY™ ADVANCED MOISTURE MANAGEMENT does such a good job at wicking moisture and helps the material dry faster. There is nothing worse than being stuck in cold, sweaty clothes after a winter run and that hasn’t happened to me ONCE with this shirt!
