Every Dynasty Must Come to an End & Scenes from my Wednesday

Hi there, I hope your Thursday is off to a great start.

My sisters and I got some sad news last night so if you could send some happy thoughts our way that’d be great. Our high school track team lost their meet on Tuesday and while that might not seem like the biggest deal in the world, it is pretty major. You see, Hopkinton Track had won 144 meet in a row – the last time that they lost I was a sophomore in high school and we lost ONE meet (mostly because some girl lied and only ran 11 laps in the mile which meant she placed and stole points… but that’s a different story for a different day). So during the 9 years that my sisters and I were on the team we experienced one loss TOTAL. But every dynasty must come to an end…

In all seriousness though, I’m excited that our league is growing and teams are getting better. And even though the streak is over I still love HHXC/T&F and will always be proud to be a Hiller!

As for the rest of my Wednesday, things were pretty good! An unexpected (but planned the night before) mid-week rest day means “sleeping in”, pancakes and folding laundry before work.

These were super duper tasty and did a great job holding me over until lunch time. Next step is to get Henri to try them – if something is labeled “gluten free” or “sugar free” he usually avoids it like the plague but I’m convinced he will love these just as much as I do!

Ironically, I had my morning cup of joe in our new rise and run mug… sorry mug, not today. 😉

photo 2Wednesdays are Bible Study and soup group days so the morning flew and the chicken noodle soup my co-worker made for lunch totally hit the spot and warmed my up on a really really chilly day!

This weather has been making me drink more coffee than usual and when I heard that my favorite local coffee shop would be open 2 extra hours yesterday I just had to stop by on my way home from work for a latte and a slice of orange pound cake  that I’m saving for a treat after my workout today!

Another way that Henri and I have been keeping warm is by having our post-work chat while standing as close to the fire as possible. We are such fish out of water in this weather it’s not even funny! ha

Kept the noodle theme alive with my mom’s homemade mac and cheese w/ ham for dinner. Now I’m all carbed up and ready to rock my workout this morning.

Time to go freeze my butt off while running mile repeats! Have a great day!

What is the greatest sports streak you’ve ever been a part of?

What is your favorite kind of soup? I’m not really into soups with a lot of broth. I prefer heartier soups like baked potato soup, and my butternut squash bisque. Although, french onion soup is pretty darn good!

Homemade or boxed mac&cheese?
