Life Lately

Woah, Wednesday already! Where has the time gone?

Life seems to be getting away from me lately… working, training, coaching, and making sure to spend quality time with Henri and the pups has definitely started to take time away from my normal blogging time. This is especially true now that I’m making sure to get in all of the “little things” that I resolved to do in order to reach my 2015 goals!

So what have I been up to the past week?

Lots of running…. obviously 😉 Last Thursday I had 6x mile repeats and while my first repeats was a tad too slow (hello taking a little extra time to warm-up in 20ish degrees) the last 5 were all negative split and within the 5:40-5:50 range my coach was looking for! I’m really getting excited for that half at the end of March – only 4 1/2 weeks to go!

This weekend the Boston Marathon course was the place to be. On Saturday my friend Courtney had a 16 mile long run so I met her at the 6 mile mark and ran the last 10 miles with her. It was 8* (felt like 0*) so we were bundled up to the max!

Our men met us at the Wholefoods in Wellesley and then we all went out for lunch at The Cottage. I was in the mood for something breakfast-y so I went with the onion, bacon, and cheddar quiche which really  hit the spot!

Henri got the fish and chips and said they were really fresh and cooked just right!

Sunday morning was a long run tempo so my teammate and I met up in Natick (on the Boston course) and ran an out and back to the firehouse in Newton and back. I don’t know the second half of the course as well as the first so it was good to get more familiar with all the twists, turns and hills for the next time that I run it.

The rest of the day on Sunday was spent at church and then watching football – 3 games to be exact! First up was the Manchester City game at home (hey they call soccer football over there 😉 ), then the whole fam headed over to watch the Packers game with my grandpa (he grew up in Wisconsin so he’s a life-long cheesehead), and then back to our house for the Patriots. 1 out of the 3 games went the way we were rooting but it’s definitely exciting to see the Patriots go back to the Superbowl!

Henri cheering on ManCity!

Henri and I both had the day off on Monday so we had a gym and movie date. American Sniper is so good you guys, and soooo powerful! I would definitely recommend seeing it, but be prepared because it can be emotional. We went to the grocery store on the way home and I teared up in the produce aisle just thinking about it. But then again, I’m can be a cry baby from time to time.

Well, it’s almost time for Wednesday Soup Group so I gotta run! 🙂

Have a great rest of your day!

Who are you cheering for in the Superbowl? (just a warning: if it’s the not the Patriots I don’t know if we can still be friends 😉 )

Have you seen American Sniper yet? What did you think?

How are you doing so far on your New Years Resolutions/Goals?
