Marathon Weekend Rundown: Boston Marathon 2015

The Boston Marathon will always be my favorite race. Even though I didn’t run this year I had a great weekend participating in all of the weekend’s activities. In order to keep from boring you with too many words let’s do this recap in a rundown by numbers fashion. In no particular numerical order…

2: The Number of Past Boston Marathon Champions That I Met!

Tatyana McFadden (3 Time Wheelchair Champ – 2013, 2014 & 2015) & Wesley Korir (2012 Champ)

12: Minute PR run by my athlete Jess!

I had the pleasure of running Jess’s shake out run with her on Saturday morning and hanging out with her again on Monday morning before her GIANT PR of 3:16:23 (previous PR of 3:33:21)

4: Miles run in the Boston Gardens w. my sister

Is there anything better than running with your sisters? I think not!

5: Seconds before I got dizzy running on the hamster wheel at the Adidas booth

This thing was fun to test out but MAN it made me dizzy! ha

125: my heart rate while simulating WALKING at 7000ft (aka the elevation in Kenya)

For comparison’s sake this normally my HR while running at 7 minute pace at sea level!

IMG_72123: rd year in a row that Hopkinton (my hometown) brought home the first place team title at the BAA High School Invitational Mile!

It’s so awesome to know that the team is carrying on the winning tradition! πŸ˜€

4: Internet friends that I met for the first time in person this weekend!

Jen and I bumped into each other during the BAA miles, my athlete Janae and I met up for a bit on Saturday, I bumped into Sarah (Fit) just walkin’ around the city, and I met Jess (my athlete I mentioned above) for the first time this weekend too!!

1: College teammate that I got to hang out with for the first time in 3 years!

I was so lucky to go to Pepperdine with Sarah Attar! She is such sweet girl and truly an inspiration! This will be her third year in a row running the Boston2Big Sur Challenge – Girl is ca-razy! Check out the blog she just started HERE!IMG_7178

10: Friends/athletes that I saw as they were coming through Coolidge Corner!

This picture is from the start because it was raining too hard for pictures out at Coolidge Corner but I’m surprised that I spotted so many people that I knew! It probably helped that the crowds were pretty thin due to the weather…

Who was in town for Boston?

Who watched on TV/their computer?

Who will I see here next year? I already decided that I’m signing up FOR sure! πŸ™‚
