(S)No(w)vember is here!

Happy Monday!!! I hope that your week is off to a great start after a relaxing weekend!

Henri and I had a pretty laid back weekend which was really just what we needed. We spent most of the weekend lounging around and doing out best to keep warm. Saturday we didn’t do much besides get in our long runs (13 for me and 7 for Henri), run errands, and go on a coffee date at my favorite local coffee shop! I could drink their cappuccinos every.day.photo 1 (79)We spent almost 2 hours there, sipping our drinks and making plans for the next year or so… lots of exciting things coming up that I can’t wait to share! I also think I narrowed down my spring marathon to one of 5 races… what do you think?

  • LA Marathon (March 15 – could be too early in the spring after training through the winter in MA)
  • OC Marathon (May 3 – would be fun to run around my old stomping grounds and it’s definitely a flat course)
  • Eugene Marathon (May 10 – where better to run a marathon than in Track Town USA???)
  • Mountains to Beach Marathon (May 25 – point-to-point, downhill course so good for fast times but not a very big field so might be running along a lot… also it’s on a Monday which is always a weird day to race)
  • Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego (May 31 – tough course but paced my friend for the second half one year so I have seen the course before and it’s a bigger marathon with lots of energy!)

Saturday night was homemade pizza night and

Sunday was the ultimate relaxation day. We woke up early to watch the Manchester Derby (Man City vs. Manchester United) – ie. one of the MOST IMPORTANT games of the season for Man City – and the NYC Marathon. Being the great wife that I let Henri have the game on the TV and watched the marathon on my laptop until the game was over. 😉 photo 2 (76)When the ladies were around the halfway point we had to head to church. Don’t tell anyone but I was totally checking RWElite’s live Tweeting of the race during service because I just HAD to know who won!! 😀 Major congrats to Meb and Desi for being the top Americans!!! I’m also really proud of Kara for sticking with it and finishing the race – so many elites would have dropped out in a situation like that and it takes a lot of courage to get to that finish line no matter what! I KNOW that she’ll be back and better than ever in her next race!

After church Henri and I headed to a bike path nearby to get in a little shake out run. It was really cold, windy and SNOWYYYYYY! I swear as soon as soon as we changed the calendar to November a switch was flipped and it is suddenly WINTER! I hear that people are calling it (S)No(w)vember! My California boys (Henri + Finn) aren’t quite sure what to think… hahaphoto 3 (64)We did 4 miles @ 7:08 pace and now I’m scared that the days that I can keep up with Henri are numbered. He is a serious speed demon!

Last night we rented Divergent (which I’ve been wanting to see for-EVER) and made popcorn/dark chocolate M&M’s mix! It was the perfect way to end our relaxing weekend.

Did you get snow this weekend?

Who else watched the NYC Marathon? Did anybody run it?

What is your favorite movie snack?
