Thinking Out Loud Thursday – 9/24/2014

Hey there!

I hope that you are excited about it being Thursday as I am! One more work day until the weekend and my favorite link-up day all rolled into one. Thanks Amanda for hosting… let’s dive into some Thinking Out Loud because I just have sooooo much on my mind!

Thinking-Out-Loud1. Are you running the Chicago Marathon?? Will you maybe just be in the area that weekend?? Well if so come meet at the Bean at 10:30AM on Saturday October 11th for a shake out run with me and ProCompression!! We’ll run 2 easy miles through Millennium Park and then will have an amazing giveaway!! <– I got all the prizes from PRO yesterday and let me tell you there are some really good ones!!

I have missed New England sooooo much and can’t believe that I survived 6 years without seeing the leaves change colors! photo 4 (39)3. Yesterday I took my run to the track and did a workout from Runner’s World to gauge my 5K fitness. I ran 2x 600m, 400m, 300m, 200m and my times were (1:57, 1:18, :59, :37 & 1:58, 1:18, :56, :38). By the end my hamstrings and butt were burning!! I’m planning on doing this workout two more times leading up to the Gobble Wobble that we are doing on Thanksgiving and hope to see improvement each time. I really like the idea of indicator workouts and using them throughout a training cycle to see where exactly you are at with your training! photo 2 (55)4. Last night when it’s time to go to bed and put the pups in their crates for the night Finn gave me this look. I can just hear him saying “NOOO, mommy don’t put me in there!” Lucky for him Henri and I both gave in last night and we had puppy snuggles… the one day a week they get to sleep in bed with us. We’re going to be in trouble if our future children (very very future children) are even half as cute as this guy cause how can you say no to that face?? photo 4 (40)5. As part of the build up to the Runner’s World Festival iFit sent all of us bloggers an iFit Active Fitness Band. So far I am loving mine! I’m planning on doing a review of it within the next week or two. Is there anything you guys would like me to hit on when I do??? photo 1 (62)6. I made homemade pumpkin ice cream over the weekend and can’t wait to share the recipe with you guys! It needs a leettle bit of tweaking and then it’s good to go! photo 5 (33)7. Sometimes races sneak up on me… that happened this week when I realized that I have the ZOOMA Cape Cod 10K this weekend in Falmouth. I’m really excited to go and since the race starts so early (7:30am) Henri and I decided to make a little race-cation out of it. We are driving down tomorrow night and then get to explore Falmouth after the race without the thousands and thousands of people that were there the last time I raced in Falmouth

8. They say the best things in life are free… which is especially true when it comes to car repairs. We’ve been down to one car for a week because Henri’s car was in the shop but since it’s under warranty what would have cost us over $500 to fix was 100% free. Score!photo 3 (33)

9. Speaking of Henri… he’s running again!!! 5 weeks strong at this point which is definitely the longest since college. He is totally going to rock the 5K on Thanksgiving!!photo 5 (28)10. Last but not least, head on over to my coaching website for a new post on all the PR’s that my athletes have been running lately! 😀

And that’s a wrap! Have a great day!
