Training Summary: 5/11/2015-5/17/2015

I feel like for the first time in a long time I got through the training week I had planned and it felt great! I got in two quality workouts (1 on the track/1 medium tempo) and hit 50 miles for the first time in a while. My favorite thing about not being in marathon training is the “short” long runs! I’m planning to stick with 12-15 miles depending on the week which just seems soooooo much nicer than 18-20! 😉

Anywho- here’s a more in depth view of my training this week!

Training Summary: 5/11/2015-5/17/2015

Monday: 8.36 miles easy @ 7:06 pace (including 6x 100m strides) + post-run power exercises

Tuesday: 9.11mile track workout [2.2 mile warm-up, 1x mile @ 5:24 (400m jogging rest) 2x 800m @ 2:36/2:32 (400m jogging rest) 4x 400m @ 74/75/75/73 (200m jogging rest), 2.33 mile cool-down] 6:58 average pace + 15 minutes core work

Wednesday: 5.04 miles easy @ 7:56 around the SB resort  

Thursday: 7.05 miles easy @ 7:48 pace + 5x 50m hill strides

Friday: 8.05 mile workout [2 mile warm-up, 4 mile tempo, 2 mile cool-down] 7:03 average pace + 30 minutes in the weight room (upper body, lower body, and a little core)

Saturday: 12.41 mile long run @ 7:14 pace (including 6x 100m strides) + 15 minutes core strength

Sunday: rest day/30 mins yoga
