Weekend Happenings & Some Random Fun

Hello hello!

I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was the perfect combination of busy and relaxing… with Saturday consisting of driving all over LA doing fun things and Sunday being a complete hang out day. 🙂

We were up early Saturday morning (much to Henri’s disappointment) to meet up with one of our best couple friends for a 6 mile hike. It’s still an adjustment not to have a long run scheduled Saturday morning but getting in a good long hike helps make up for it!

We hiked up to Echo Mountain in Pasadena – 3 miles straight uphill and then 3 miles back down. It was a really fun hike and I definitely recommend it to anyone that’s local.

After a quick wardrobe change we drove out towards the ocean for a late brunch at Bacari to celebrate my SIL’s birthday. The restaurant is a really interesting concept in that you order multiple small plates – which was perfect for brunch when you don’t know if you want something sweet or savory!

My favorite plate that I chose was the french toast. It was literally the best french toast I’ve ever had in my life… so good!!!

Happy belated Birthday to this gem!

Sunday morning we slept in late before I made Henri a special breakfast for his *first* Father’s Day. It was my first time making a Dutch Baby and it was so simple and delicious – kind of like a cross between a crepe and pancake.

I used this recipe by Martha Stewart and we topped it with fresh berries mixed with a little sugar and lemon juice.

After church the rest of the day my view looked like this… my kind of Sunday for sure!

Hope you had a great weekend as well and that your week is off to a great start!

What was the best thing you ate this weekend?

If you did a long run how far did you go? What workout(s) did you do if you didn’t run??
