Upper & Lower Body Toning Workout

If you watch the news you know that California is getting hit by some pretty crazy weather – at least by California standards. This week there’s been lots of heavy rain, thunderstorms and quite a few earthquakes!

I’m actually one of those crazy people that like to run in the rain but on the first rain day in California I always keep my workout inside. The roads are slippery, it seems like no one in California know how to drive in the rain, and I would like to avoid getting hit by a car.

This past Tuesday I biked for an hour and then was craving a bit more so I did one of my current favorite strength circuits. The past few months I’ve been making more of an effort to make sure I’m lifting weights 2-3 times a week – since I also run for about an hour a day I need short and effective strength workouts so I will stick with them when I am short on time!

Upper Lower Body Toning Workout

This workout is great because you alternate between a lower body and upper body exercise – this cuts down on time because you can rest your legs while working out your arms and vice versa. It’s also a great all around toning workout because each exercise selected targets a different area of your body making for a great total body workout.

Choose a weight for each exercise that challenges you, and has your legs or arms burning for the last few reps! 2 rounds through should take about 25-30 mins!

If you’re stuck in the El Nino this winter, or just need to avoid the cold and snow where you live also try out these treadmill workouts & this bike workout

Stay warm & dry everybody! 😀
